THERAPY SERVICES
|

Stone Oak Therapy Services is structured to help each child reach his or
her potential through carefully designed programs. Our unique comprehensive intake process ensures every member of
the clinical team contributes to every child’s program.
ALL
of our chief therapists hold Master's degrees in their
clinical area and are expected to exceed their annual
requirement of seminars, conferences, and other educational
sources to keep informed of the latest advances
in their field.

Speech Language Pathology
|
|
Our clinical specialists in this area address pre-language
skills, oral motor skills, feeding & swallowing, articulation, language
(including receptive and expressive), pragmatics, and cognition.

Occupational Therapy
|
|
These therapy experts address needs that include fine &
gross motor, eye-hand coordination, visual perception, motor planning, and
sensory-processing tasks designed to improve overall performance and
independence.

Physical Therapy
|
|
These clinicians are trained to help children develop and
improve flexibility, strength, balance and coordination. Gross motor skills are also targeted to help
kids reach their developmental milestones.

Behavioral Therapy
|
|
We currently utilize two highly
qualified therapists for our behavioral therapy program:
Lupe
Castaneda worked with children and youth with autism and other developmental
disabilities for the Arlington ISD in Arlington, Texas during last 14 years.
He earned a Master's degree in Adapted Physical Education from Texas
Woman's University in Denton, TX in 1997. He then completed almost 30
hours of graduate course work in the Behavior Analysis department at the
University of North Texas in Denton, TX. In addition to the formal training in
behavior analysis and autism intervention, Mr. Castaneda has completed over
350 clock hours of workshop training in the areas of applied behavior
analysis, ABLLS (Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills), social
skills training, Social Stories, structured teaching, visual strategies,
functional behavior assessment/analysis, developing behavior intervention
plans, and Autism/Asperger's characteristics. Mr. Castaneda earned his
certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analayst (BCBA) in December 2002
and is currently 1 of 2 master's level behavior analysts in San Antonio and
South Texas. He also holds a Texas state teaching certification in Special
Education (1992).
Angie VonTalge has worked with children with Autism &
other developmental disabilities for the past 3 years. She earned her Master’s degree in
Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Central Florida in 2004. While working on her Masters degrees she
completed course work to obtain certification of become a board certified
behavior analyst. She received her
certification in December 2004. Ms. VonTalge
also has attended continuing education in the areas of Applied Behavior
Analysis, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Verbal Behavior, behavioral feeding
issues, and ABLLS-R (Assessment of Basic Language and Learning
Skills-revised). She previously worked
in a hospital based setting for infant feeding difficulties and has worked
closely with lactation consultants for 2 years. In addition she has experience
with clinic based and home based language intervention programs.
