NEW 2007 SUMMER CAMP INFO...

Often Imitated but NEVER Duplicated... You may find similar camps and groups offered this summer, but none match the experience and expertise placed into ours.

We are currently accepting enrollment for the following camps.  There are a variety of programs, either 2-week, 4-week, or 8-week, taking place in June and July.  Registration and parent information day is [COMING SOON] at our clinic on 1020 Central Parkway South.  For now, reserve a place by completing the Registration Portion of the following brochures and call us for a screening time.  The screening is necessary to ensure that kids are matched up based on skill and ability rather than age:
  • For the Love of Reading - One of our most successful over the years.  Kids have improved their reading by 1-2 grade levels in a short period of time.  Great program for kids who have fallen behind in the schools and risk being held back solely because of their weak reading skills.

Detailed Descriptions of Sessions

For the Love of Reading

For the fifth consecutive year,  we are proud to offer San Antonio’s most effective, intensive, and success-oriented academic summer programs.  Our students average one and a half years academic progress in the course of one session with us.  We approach reading from all angles: phonetic, sight-word, whole language, and reading comprehension.  Our goal is to use each student’s individual strengths to address his or her areas of weakness.  We aim to give each student the skills he or she needs to succeed independently.  Our programs are conducted in small groups, with a maximum of six students per group, closely matched by ability level to create the most conducive learning environment.  Our camps are ideal for students with auditory processing disorders, dyslexia, attention deficits, or who just struggle with any area of reading.

This program has four levels of instruction ranging from emerging to advanced.  Throughout the first three levels the focus is on advanced letter sound relationships, strengthening auditory and visual conceptualization  of letters and sounds and application of reading comprehension and spelling strategies.

The Advanced level focuses on reading to learn by targeting comprehension, note-taking, summarizing, and higher order thinking skills as they relate to passages read.  Each year of a child’s school career is more focused on reading to learn in classes including science and social studies. Reading for information is also a crucial skill for success on standardized tests.
