The Intake Process

Our intake process is designed to prevent “reinventing the wheel.”  That is why we request parents to bring us as much historical information as possible on their child’s capabilities prior to our staff providing any treatments.  This allows our staff to fully understand the child’s strengths and weaknesses based on prior records and treatments.  It also helps our staff with the design of unique treatment plans specifically for that child, saving time, money, and effort.

In addition to any historical information that can be provided, we also request the completion of our intake packet prior to coming to the center.  This collection of data is highly beneficial in targeting a program for your child's future development.  Please call us at (210) 798-CARE (2273) and will be happy to mail you this intake information.  You can also send us an e-mail at 2home@stoneoaktherapy.com and we can e-mail you the Microsoft Word documents that can be completed by you on your PC, printed out, and mailed in to us.  Again, the key to developing an effective treatment program is based on the amount of accurate, historical information that can be provided to us.

IMPORTANT: All insurance plans are different!  Most insurance plans will cover the cost of an evaluation, but thereafter coverage for treatment sessions can differ widely depending upon the diagnosis.  Thus, it may make no difference whether your child receives therapy from an in-network or an out-of-network provider.

In cases where the insurance company does not cover treatment except under certain conditions, Stone Oak Therapy Services & Learning Institute is structured to provide immediate results as well as at-home strategies that the parents can utilize themselves.  The most IMPORTANT thing is to not delay the treatment that your child may need.  The earlier the age, the more effective the treatment can be.

 

Referrals

If you are a clinician or educator and feel that our services would be beneficial for your patients and students, respectively, please call or e-mail us and we will be happy to discuss our services in detail with you and your staff.  Our interest is in helping all kids have an equal chance in becoming as good as they want to be, and then becoming better than they ever thought possible.

 

Managed Care Contracts

We are currently in-network providers or in the process of becoming in-network providers for the following:

Ø      Aetna (ALL Plans) - For this insurer, we MUST insist on a valid credit card and/or blank check, to be securely held by us for at least a year after services have been performed.  Aetna is reknown for giving erroneous, misleading, or incomplete benefit information, and worse, will reimburse for services only to recoup the money several months afterwards.  No exceptions!!!

Ø      City of San Antonio Employees

Ø      Humana (ALL Plans)

Ø      National Healthcare Alliance

Ø      Texas True Choice (includes Benefit Planners, some Principal Financial Group plans, USI Administrators, John Alden/Fortis Health, Community First Health Plans, and many more!  Look at the back of your insurance card for this designation.)

Ø      Tricare's Program for Persons with Disabilities (Do you qualify for this program?  Check out the Tricare website and click on the tab entitled "You May Be Eligible" under the For Tricare Beneficiaries drop-down box.)

Ø      United Healthcare PPO-OON
